Lamy Safari

Several months ago I went a little wild buying myself some new toys. First there was The Tool, next there was The Torch. One of the cheapest purchases that I made was my Kaweco purchase. The purchase that I have been most happy about is my Lamy Safari. It was a great deal that I got on Ebay from this seller. It was brand new in the box and even came with a box of black cartridges. Shipped from the UK it still only cost me just under $18.

Now, I could do a complete review of the Safari and give you all of my opinions about it, but there really is no need for that. I'll tell you like all of the other countless reviewers have...this is a solid pen. No frills, no gold, no fancy designs. Just simple, utilitarian writing pleasure.

This Safari is the Charcoal version with a black nib and clip. It is a medium point. I have read that Lamy pens tend to be a little on the large side, and that was of some concern to me. However, I have read too many good reviews about them not to buy one. The pen really isn't too big, but I do write unposted (hence the name of the blog). I would say that it writes a bit wetter than most medium points, but we all know this.

One day, when I get another wild spending streak in me, I plan to purchase a few more Safaris. This thing has gone everywhere with me since I bought it and I have had no problems. It is strong and designed well, so go get one. Nr
